Wise Words from Maurice Sendak

Wise words from Mr. Sendak in regards to how an Illustrator should approach bringing out their story in a children's book. Maurice Sendak is royalty within the Children's Book and Illustration fields. He is best known for being the creator of the CLASSIC and timeless, Where the Wild Things Are! It just lets me know that I have a LONG way to go! I'll enjoy getting there!

This interview was taken from a documentary on him titled, “There’s a Mystery There: Sendak on Sendak: A Retrospective in Words and Pictures” produced by the Rosenbach Museum & Library in Philadelphia. The DVD explores the masterful storytellers extraordinary career through his own words as the author talks about his favorite characters and the many influences and settings of his richest stories. Get the DVD at www.rosenbach.org!

Thanks to How To Be A Childrens Book Illustrator for the blog post!

Where have I been?

I was the featured Childrens Book Illustrator a while ago at the Storybook Club Group on DeviantArt. Here is a link to the little article with me. I am very strange when I read myself back. Very strange indeed! LOL!

Also here are some of the finished education Illustrations I did recently. At the end of it all I did about 67 of these jokers! Cool project! It's fun to draw for a living!

I also must applaud the educational industry. They go out of their way to try and be as ethnically inclusive as possible. Many if not most of the illustrations done had Black, Latin and Asian children as well as adults! Bravo!

Now I am OFF to other projects!!! Whew!!! Enjoy everybody!

Studio Ghibli Video Game!!!

I see that Studio Ghibli is doing a video game!!!!! A Miyazaki video game!!! It makes me hate the fact that I don't have a PS3. Even if I did though, I wouldn't have time to play the game due to my work schedule. ::::Sigh:::: I guess that's a good thing! Maybe someday!
